Mensagem:  The official langauge of Austria and Switzerland is certainly German. There seems to be a general impression that English is the "official" language of the world, and I think in some contexts that might be the case, but it isn't so for most countries of the world. The one major country I know of that has English as the official language even though most of the population doesn't speak it natively is India.
