Hi Sandro, I'm not sure my suggestion applies to your teaching environment, but in my opinion, you need to focus more on the students' inner thoughts and interests. You begin with establishing a good connection and rapport with the learners. Instead of outside materials (texts, recordings, etc.), the thoughts of the learner, even the ones of neurotic origin, can be discussed and brought to light in clear and appropriate language. The goal is to increase the emotional load of the conversation, making the classes more appealing and engaging. In a short time the learners will be able to talk about their beliefs in appropriate and convincing language, with accurate vocabulary and pronunciation, and later easily adapt this ability to other situations. This is especially feasible with intermediate and advanced learners and obviously, it only applies if you are working with small groups; best in one-to-one lessons.
