"to inaugurate" is frequently used in english, but generally only to describe a quite formal occasion. The completion of a major highway might have an inauguration ceremony, for instance. Or a major building, like a Capitol building. For your given examples I think "open" works well. "established" is often used in regard to a business, meaning much the same: "the restaurant was established in 1975" |
