TO LIE = mentir I lie to you, and you lie to me. TO LIE refers to people. (deitar-se, repousar) Note this is an intransitive verb. I lie on my bed. You lie on the beach. TO LAY refers to things. Note this is a transitive verb. (colocar, pôr) I lay my book on the table. You lay the keys on the table. Mesmo alguns falantes nativos tem problemas com estes verbos. |
