Quite an article, Paulo. In Pocos de Caldas I was told it was common practice to give undeserved good grades because a student with a bad grade might go elsewhere, taking the tuition fees with him. A friend teaching in a Oklahoma private school said the same. In the USA (in Brazil too?) a common excuse for bad grades is "The teacher hates me!" |
